Sunday Morning Coffee: September 4, 2016
This weekend was special because my parents just arrived from Minnesota to spend the next few months close by. We met up with them in their new space south of the city to explore their new home and spend some quality time in our new proximity. We also brought along essential groceries as a house-warming present. The long holiday weekend was filled with food, wine, family, and board games, giving us the perfect break from our work realities.

Sunday Morning Coffee: July 31, 2016
Woke up to a dreary gray morning after not getting nearly enough sleep (stayed up late reading + an early rising toddler). My Sunday morning included lots of coffee and then, thankfully, a nap. David took the baby for a walk and came back with these flowers. And now the day is brightening and it’s the baby’s turn to nap. Hopefully. As I’m writing this, she’s been tossing and turning without sleeping or crying for an hour and a half. We’ll see how this goes.

Finally a break after a l-o-n-g stretch of work that even spanned last weekend. Catching up on lounging around the house with coffee and the new crop of food magazines. A busy few weeks behind me, and another few to go before August vacation, but there’s a lot to look forward to, too.

This week has been a bit of a slog. Both David and I put in long hours at work and somehow managed to balance it all with spending quality(-ish) time with Charlotte. The week ended with a two-day stint at the hospital, providing coverage for the inpatient services (hence the coffee in the parking lot instead of comfortably at home). I’m certainly hoping the week ahead has a bit more down time, even if it’s hot.

At the end of a tough week, one of the things I’d most like to share is a podcast that’s been making me very happy lately: Another Round with Heben and Tracy. I started listening earlier in 2016 when I was on a mission to include more comedy in my life, and their show is funny and fabulous.

It’s not Sunday, but it’s a holiday, so that counts. More time for lounging on the porch with Babykins, eating celebratory donuts, and enjoying the gorgeous weather here in Boston. So here’s what I’m up to in terms of reading and cooking:
