It feels like spring is just peeking around the corner. I’m making the most of the winter produce that’s left, and anticipating the abundance of the coming months. I’ve done lemon-poppyseed cake, a grapefruit loaf, and now I’ve got a pie cooling on the counter. I don’t know how I found the energy to put that together because we’ve had our hands full at home. For no apparent reason, the kids have been a lot to take on this weekend.
And yet I enjoy them. Here’s what else I’m reading, eating, and enjoying this week:

Book Review
Title: The Friend
Author: Sigrid Nunez
Date: 2018
Format: Library book
This book felt like a breath of fresh air. Slow and thoughtful, but entertaining and juicy, with the right amount of tension. I really enjoyed it, though it was more like a good companion, rather than a page turner. Not surprising (or maybe even genius) that the book about the evolving relationship with a dog feels companionable.
