Sunday Morning Coffee: June 30, 2019

We’ve had a pretty full week to close out the month of June. My parents are in town, which means there are lots of get-togethers for dinner, and nights run later than we’re used to. It’s so much fun, but I notice the little bumps in the road when I get disconnected from my routines and systems. I’m writing this morning from the couch in my parents’ house. We stayed over last night, and the kids are still sleeping upstairs.

Here’s what I’ve been reading and enjoying this week:

Nutrition/Health/Body

Explore what intuitive eating actually means in this New York Magazine article.

New York Times article about the wellness industry and their pseudoscientific claims.

Washington Post article about climate change anxiety and its portrayal in pop culture.

Just For Fun

This list of 25 family-friendly audiobooks to listen to on a road trip came in super handy.

A list of 100 books to read, one for each age.

I hadn’t heard of this trend, but I am curious to check it out: Instagram To-Do Lists.

Cooking

We made these buttermilk Belgian waffles last Sunday.

This apricot upside-down cake was delicious.

My sister told me about this vegetable delivery service that helps reduce food waste, which I’m looking to try out: Misfits Market

What I’m Cooking This Week:
Sunday: Carrot-ginger soup with buttered baguette
Monday: Pasta with Brussels sprouts and chicken sausage

Thursday: Spicy chicken penne with an arugula + fennel salad (made by my sister)
